It's that time of year again. Yes, man's (or woman's) best friend's favorite holiday, Take Your Dog to Work Day, is this Friday, June 22.

To celebrate, we want to gather photos of your dog or dogs as part of a featured photo gallery we will post  to our website this week and print in the Lifestyle section of our newspaper.

Volunteers sought for Chestnut Street Playground Block Party

Chestnut Street Playground Fundraising Community Group is looking for as many as 100 volunteers to staff the groups block party in Souderton Saturday, June 23.

Volunteers are needed for the following, according to event coordinators:

1. Set up prior to the event.  We have trash containers to put out, ice to carry, vendors to move in and out, different areas to setup from approx 8-10:30 a.m.
2.  During the day from 11-5 p.m., we need people to help staff the fun areas. We will have inflatables, kids games, a preschool fun area, an information booth selling admission passes for the fun area.
3.  We need people to help cover vendor areas for people who may need information, who may be looking to bathrooms or whatever else comes up, and to help with performance area safety such as keeping people from the staged events.
4.  Clean up starts around 4:30 p.m. We will need to move gear back into the church, move vendors out, clean up the park and breakdown any signs and ballons.15 people minimum are needed to complete these jobs.
All ages are welcome.

Ann Cornell named The Reporter editor in chief

LANSDALE — “Her digital-first skills are the ones we’re looking for,” said Times Herald editor and Regional Content Director Stan Huskey, introducing The Reporter’s editor in chief Monday.
Ann Cornell, who takes over for the departed Nona Breaux, who retired at the end of 2011, had previously been editor of the Perkiomen Valley bureau of the online newspaper, Patch. Before that she was news editor at the Times Herald in Norristown. Read more.
